Mt Sterling Fire District responded to 19 calls in 2018 - 11.8 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Mterling included eight fires - five structure fires and three other fires.

In all, the department saw $170,500 in fire loss - or about $21,313 per fire.

The department also received 11 false calls.
