Report: Brussels School District spent $13,664 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Brussels Community Unit School District 42 was up 22.5 percent from five years ago, according to the West Central Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Calhoun County school district spent $11,153 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $13,664 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 130 to 106 students over the same period.

Brussels's spending in 2019-20 was 5.7 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
