The Illinois College men's and women's swimming and diving team welcomes Harriet Siegrist as the new assistant coach.
Siegrist comes to IC after previously working as an assistant coach for the DASH swim team in Dubuque, Iowa. There she worked with young swimmers to instruct the athletes on proper techniques and safety in the water. She also assisted the head coach to manage a successful and growing USA Swim Team program.
"I would like to thank Coach Chris Sykes and the search committee for this amazing opportunity to be the assistant coach for the men's and women's swim and dive team. I am excited to join a community that strives for greatness and prepares students for a successful future. I look forward to helping my student-athletes be the best they can be in the classroom and in the pool. Go Lady Blues and Blueboys!" said Siegrist.
Siegrist attended Loras College during her undergraduate studies where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations, Spanish & International Studies. There she was a standout member of the Loras College swim team being named a captain and earning the swim team spirit award multiple times.
The Illinois College men's and women's swim teams look to build on their success of last year. Both teams set multiple school records and competed well at the conference meet. They will begin their season on the road at Millikin University on Saturday, 10/22 at 1:00 PM.
