McDonough County Board Road and Bridge Committee met Aug. 4.
Here are the minutes provided by the board:
The McDonough County Road and Bridge Committee held their monthly meeting at 7:00 P.M. The Meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201. Committee Members present included Chair Dave Cortelyou, Vice Chair Mike Cox, Lee Calvert, Eric Chapman, George Dixon, and Rod McGrew. Members Craig Foster, and Dick Marcott were absent. Other persons in attendance: Dave Cadwalader, Patrick Stout, County Engineer Megan Crook, Scott Hance, County Chair Scott Schwerer, and Secretary Emily Flynn.
Chair Dave Cortelyou called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
Review Minutes from July 7, 2022
Member Cox moved with a second by Member Chapman to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Approve Resolution to Award 2022 Highway Striping Contract
Member Chapman moved with a second by Member McGrew to approve the Resolution to Award 2022 Highway Striping Contract. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Approve Resolution Request for County Aid to Bridge Funds Project 2145-16 Hire Township Road District Member Cox moved with a second by Member Chapman to approve Resolution Request for County Aid to Bridge Funds Project 2145-16 Hire Township Road District. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Approve Resolution Request for County Aid to Bridge Funds Project 2248-20 Mound Township Road District Member Chapman moved with a second by Member McGrew to approve Resolution Request for County Aid to Bridge Funds Project 2248-20 Mound Township Road District. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Approve Resolution Request for County Aid to Bridge Funds Project 2230-102 McDonough County Member Cox moved with a second by Member Chapman to approve Resolution Request for County Aid to Bridge Funds Project 2230-102 McDonough County. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Approve Resolution Request for County Aid to Bridge Funds Project 2230-103 McDonough County Member Chapman moved with a second by Member McGrew to approve Resolution Request for County Aid to Bridge Funds Project 2230-103 McDonough County. Motion carried on a voice vote.
July Work Report
Report given by Dave Cadwalader. Cadwalader informed the Committee that they have been spraying, patching roads, fixing erosion, and working on trucks.
County Engineer Crook informed the Committee that there is a hole in a bridge near Plymouth, the road is closed until the State can look at it. There has been a change in underground utilities below highways and they won’t be able to use steel anymore. The Tennessee blacktop has about one mile on it that needs repaired.

Member McGrew moved with a second by Member Cox to approve the claims submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

County Chair Comments
County Chair Schwerer informed everyone that he has been receiving compliments on the work on 700 Road.

Member Chapman moved with a second by Member McGrew to adjourn the meeting at 7:30 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
