Calhoun Community Unit School District 40 Board of Education met Jan. 4.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

A Full Time Employee Tuition Waiver Hearing, of the Board of Education in Calhoun Community Unit School District #40, consisting of Calhoun and portions of Greene Counties, Illinois was called to order by Board Secretary Amanda Gress, Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 5:35 p.m. in the Calhoun Elementary School Library.

Upon roll being called the following board members were present: Amanda Gress, Janine Hagen, Nate Sagez.

Jackie Baalman and Laura Longnecker. Luke Fraley and Hannah Nelson was absent.

Others in attendance were: Andrea Lee and LeaAnn Klaas.

A motion was made by Janine Hagen, seconded by Laura Longnecker that the Board of Education approves the agenda inclusive of:

1. Call to the Hearing to Order

2. Open the hearing on waiving full time employee tuition costs for non-resident employees from 2023-2024 through 2025-2026 as authorized by Section 10-20.12a of the Illinois School Code.

3. Testimony regarding tuition waivers for full time employees.

4. Close hearing

5. Adjourn

Fraley – absent     Nelson – absent

Gress – yes           Sagez – yes

Hagen – yes

Motion carried.

A motion was made by Laura Longnecker, seconded by Jackie Baalman that the Board of Education approves to waive full time employee tuition costs for non-resident employees from 2023-2024 through 2025-2026 as authorized by Section 10-20.12a of the Illinois School Code.

Motion carried.

With no further business to discuss, a motion was made by Jackie Baalman, seconded by Laura Longnecker that the Board of Education adjourns the meeting at 5:39 p.m.
