West Central Reporter

There were 33 offenders released on parole during 2021 that live in Pike County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by West Central Reporter.

The data shows 23 men and 10 women were released in Pike County. Of the parolees, three were veterans, and the median age was 38. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2021, and the oldest was a 59-year-old woman convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2019.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Manuel Pressey. He was convicted of a property crime in 2014 when he was 45 years old. He is now 54.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
