City of Bushnell City Council met Feb. 20.

Mayor Wilt called the meeting to order

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.

*City Treasurer Betsy Rench stated she would be scheduling budget meetings in the next few weeks.

*Rench also stated the new COLA rate was 6.4%

Consent Agenda

Ald. Lorton made a motion to approve the consent agenda which includes.

1. Approval of Minutes from February 6, 2023

2. Accept January Financial/Treasurers Report.

Ald. Yocum seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Ad hoc (Mayor’s Report)

*Mayor Wilt stated she would be manning the Job Fair for the city on March 30, 2023, she

Asked the supervisors to get job descriptions to her for this event.

*Friends feeding Friends is 2/28/2023 at the CCC, Taco Tuesday is the meal.

*70’s Trivia is this Saturday 2/25/2023 at the VFW

*There will be a soup supper 2/23/2023 at the VFW

Personnel/Finance/Budget

*Next meeting Thursday, February 23, 2023 4:00 at the City Hall

Public Works

*The city received two bids for the demolition of the burn out building on W. Main, Stoneking

Turned n a bid for $94,3000 and Meyer Construction turned in a bid for $133,650.

Ald. Lorton made a motion to award the bid of $94,300 to Stoneking for the demolition of the burn out building on West Main. Ald. Norton seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Where upon Mayor Wilt declared the motion carried.

*Mayor Wilt asked council what date they wanted for the fireworks, they agreed with general consensus they would keep it on July 3.

*Jeff Rench with ESDA stated he will be attending a Lost Person Behavior Class at the Health Department on March 11, 2023

*Rench will also be attending a zoom meeting on NFIP Flood Insurance on March 2, 2023 at 2:30 at the City Hall.

Police/Liquor/ESDA

*Minutes from 2/13/2023 meeting

Real Estate/Parks/Recreation

*Ald. Yocum reported on the fobs for the fitness room, so far there have been 60 renewals.

Engineering Report

*Greg Ryckaert from IMEG stated they are still tracking a grant for the Washington St. sewer.

*The sledge land application treatment will be done is the spring.

*The Water tower painting will go out for bid next month.

*Getting the water looped in to the splash park will cost over $100,000

Economic Development

*Next meeting will be 2/27/2023, 4:00 at the Depot

*Ald. Allen stated people are asking about having alcohol at the Depot, the City Attorney will look into that.

Attorney’s Report/Ordinances & Resolutions

*City Attorney Nick Tinsman stated they are now processing ordinance violations and giving Body attachments to anyone who hasn’t paid or doesn’t show for court

Ald. Norton made a motion at 5:58 to enter into Executive Session for a) Appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of an employee of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, pursuant to Sec. 2© (1) of the Open Meetings Act. Ald. Lorton seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:
