McDonough County Board Human Resources and Planning Committee met June 8.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The Human Resources and Planning Committee met on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201. Committee Members in attendance included Chair Letha Clark, Vice Chair Vicky Kipling, Dustin Berg, George Dixon, Michael Kirby, Dave Nissen, Jerry Raby, and Dana Walker. Others in attendance included Patrick Stout, Bonnie Skripps, John Vigezzi, Larissa Berg, Karen Blakeley, County Chair Scott Schwerer, and Deputy Clerk Emily Flynn. 

Chair Letha Clark called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Review and Approve Minutes from May 11, 2023

Member Raby moved with a second by Member Kipling to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Animal Control Report

Chair Clark read the Animal Shelter report. They had 29 adoptions in May, they had some pre-paid adoptions. There was 16 dogs and 32 cats in the shelter at the end of May.

Humane Society

Bonnie Skripps informed the Committee that flowers were donated for the shelter, and they took 3 dogs to farmer’s market. Patty and Allen Nemec have challenged the community to match a $10,000.00 donation.

Policies and Procedures

None.

GIS Update

A discussion was held regarding a drone fly over.

Claims

Waste Management is now pre-paid and there will be no longer be late fees.

Member Dixon moved with a second by Member Kirby to approve the claims as submitted. Motion carried on voice vote.

Other

None.

County Board Chair Comments

Chair Schwerer announced that 20% of the tax distribution went out to taxing bodies last week.

Adjourn

Member Berg moved with a second by Member Walker to adjourn the meeting at 7:18 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
