Bellwood School District 88 Board of Education met March 5.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1. CALL TO ORDER

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by the Board President, Mr. Griffin

2. ROLL CALL

Present: President Mr. Griffin, and Board Members: Clark-Smith, Arredondo, Perez, Morton, Riales, Eubanks

Also Present: Superintendent Dr. Stockton, Director of Finance Ms. Baptist, Director of Bilingual Services Mrs. Oldendorf, Coordinator of Buildings & Grounds Ms. Rodriguez, Director of Technology Mr. Daniels, Communication Coordinator Ms. Thomas, Executive Assistant Mrs. Walton, and Attorney Miller

3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Board President led the audience into the Pledge of Allegiance.

4. AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION

5. Special Presentation: Dr. Stockton & Ms. Riales

Dr. Stockton presented Mr. Burnham with a Certificate from Illinois State Board of Education in recognizing his hard work and dedication to his students and his ongoing accomplishments and ongoing commitment to continuous school improvement.

Ms. Riales presented certificates to the Community Leadership Team (CSL) for all their hard work and dedication throughout the school year.

6. A motion was made by Ms. Arredondo, seconded by Ms. Riales, to approve to ratify the poll vote taken on February 7, 2024, for McKinley Elementary School Fund Raiser. Staff will work side by side with McDonald staff.

7. A motion was made by Ms. Riales, seconded by Ms. Eubanks, approve to ratify the poll vote taken on February 8, 2024, for Lincoln Primary School Fund Raiser to sell Double Good Popcorn.

8. A motion was made by Ms. Riales, seconded by Mr. Morton, to approve the Memorandum of Agreement between Bellwood School District and Bellwood Education Association for Instructional Coaches.

9. (Tabled) the Resolution Authorizing the Sale, Donation, or Disposal of Surplus Personal Property of the Bellwood School District 88.

10. A motion was made by Mr. Griffin, seconded by Mr. Morton, to approve Casa Mendoza LLC to replace the painted floors with Epoxy at Thurgood Marshall in the amount of $20,412.00.
