The Western Illinois University Football program is set to host a Women's Football Night on Friday, August 9, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Macomb, Illinois.
The event aims to bring women together to support Leatherneck football and experience the excitement of the game. Activities will begin in Western Hall with appetizers, a "ChalkTalk," and a tour of the football facilities conducted by the coaching staff. The evening will conclude at Hanson Field where players and coaches will lead football drills and organize a photo shoot with Western Illinois' mascot, Colonel Rock IV.
"The ladies are going on the field first this season," said first-year Head Coach Joe Davis. "We are excited to have the women who love WIU football over for a night of food, fun, and football. I can't think of a better way to start the season."
Single tickets for the event are priced at $20. The ticket includes WIU football merchandise, two tickets to the first home game of the season on September 28 against McKendree, an appetizer tailgate provided by Hy-Vee, ChalkTalk with WIU coaches, a tour of the football facilities, a photo shoot with Colonel Rock IV featuring football gear, and basic football drills led by players and coaches.
The event is open to women aged 21 and older of all abilities. Participants are encouraged to dress in active wear and athletic shoes. Attendees should bring their own beverages. Parking will be available in the Q lot.
