Public Comment: None
The first item on the agenda for discussion was on an Ordinance to Amend Section 17- 766 of the Macomb Municipal Code Pertaining to the Curb Cuts within the Downtown Business District. This ordinance had first reading last Monday night.
CDD Lambert stated staff is requesting Community Development to recommend to City Council to amend Section 17- 766 in Macomb Municipal Code that states no additional curb cuts shall be allowed in the B- 3 Downtown Business District. This request is being made due to a site plan application for a parking lot.
CDD Lambert stated they would be meeting with city staff later in the week to see what standards are currently in place. There are certain aspects of the project they need to bring to the Zoning Board of Appeals, before the ordinance is put into place.
Alderman Vigezzi asked for clarification on where curb cuts could be placed within the downtown district. CA Coker stated one block outside of the square.
Alderman Dorsett spoke in favor of the site plan.
Alderman Moon asked if this would meet the criteria for how much green space and parking spaces we have. CDD Lambert stated there would be two separate areas of landscaping that meet the criteria. CA Coker stated at this time, the only ordinance change they are requesting, is the code.
There was no further discussion and Mayor Inman stated this item would be placed on the agenda for final action at next council meeting.
There being no further business to come before Council, Alderman Dorsett moved, seconded by Alderman Wynn to adjourn the meeting, all Aldermen voting " Aye" by voice vote and no" Nay" votes, Mayor Inman declared the motion carried and they adjourned the meeting at 5: 24 p. m.
