WIU women's golf team to compete in Brittany Kelly Classic

The WIU women's golf team is set to participate in the Brittany Kelly Classic in Yorktown, Indiana, on Monday, September 16, and Tuesday, September 17. The team recently competed in the Payne Stewart Invitational, where they placed 10th out of 12 teams with a score of 948 (+96). Mia Scrimgeour had the best performance for WIU last week, shooting +23 and finishing T42.

Last fall at the Brittany Kelly Classic, WIU finished in 13th place as a team. Olivia Kerr and Olivia McCrystal were the only two Leathernecks who participated in the event last year. Kerr finished in 47th place with a total score of +17, while McCrystal finished T73 with a score of +32.

The Brittany Kelly Classic will be held at The Players Club at Woodland Trails. The course is a par 72 that spans 6,262 yards. Rounds one and two will take place on Monday with an 8:30 AM shotgun start. Round three will be played on Tuesday starting at 9 AM.

Competing teams include Ball State, Butler, Cleveland State, Dayton, Green Bay, IU Indy, Lindenwood, Ohio, UIC, Valparaiso, Western Illinois (WIU), and Western Michigan.

The starting lineup for WIU includes Olivia KerrAbby Hunter (Olivia Kerr), Olivia McCrystal (Olivia McCrystal), Mia Scrimgeour (Mia Scrimgeour), and Gabriela Galindo Rubio (Gabriela Galindo Rubio).
