The Western Illinois Women's Golf team concluded the Brittany Kelly Classic in Yorktown, Indiana, with a 10th place finish, posting a total score of 923 (+59). The Leathernecks recorded a team score of 300 in the final round, matching their best performance this fall.
Mia Scrimgeour and Abby Hunter each scored 75 (+3) in the third round. Hunter achieved two birdies and an eagle on the back nine, while Scrimgeour secured two birdies on the front nine. Gabriela Galindo Rubio finished with a score of 77 (+5), and Olivia McCrystal ended the tournament with an 89 (+17).
Olivia Kerr led Western Illinois by finishing tied for 14th place at +7. After an initial round of 78, Kerr shot an even-par 72 in round two and a one-over-par 73 in round three. Her second-round performance included five birdies, with consecutive birdies on holes 16 and 17, culminating in a back-nine score of 34 (-2). In the third round, Kerr added two birdies and one eagle on the back nine for a score of 35 (-1).
The Leathernecks will take a break next week before heading to Omaha, Nebraska, for the Big O Classic on September 30 and October 1.
