Leatherneck Women's Golf finishes fourth at Big O Classic

The Leatherneck Women's Golf team participated in the Big O Classic, finishing in 4th place with a score of 955 (+91).

Olivia Kerr secured a top-10 finish with a score of 232 (+16). She shot rounds of 78 in both the first and second rounds, and her best round was the third where she scored 76. In round one, Kerr made 12 pars. During round two, she birdied her first hole and concluded the back nine with a birdie on hole 17 and an eagle on hole 18. In the final round, Kerr had one birdie on the front nine and finished the tournament with consecutive birdies.

Mia Scrimgeour finished within the top-20, shooting a total of 238 (+22). She scored 79 in both the first and third rounds, while her second-round score was an 80. Scrimgeour recorded 11 pars in round one, eight pars along with two birdies in round two, and added another ten pars plus one birdie in round three.

Abby Hunter also achieved a top-20 finish with a score of 241 (+25). Her scores were an 82 in round one, followed by a strong performance of 78 in round two, and an 81 in round three. Hunter made ten pars during her first round. In her second round, she achieved her first birdie on the opening hole and had twelve pars overall. In her final round, Hunter managed eight pars and one birdie.

The team is scheduled to compete again on October 6th and October 7th at the Coyote Creek Classic in Peoria, IL.
