Western Illinois cross country teams perform well at Bradley Intercollegiate

The Western Illinois University men's and women's cross country teams participated in the Bradley Intercollegiate event held in Peoria. The women's team secured third place with a total of 61 points, while DePaul emerged victorious with 25 points.

Paulina Wuestefeld was the standout performer for the Leathernecks, finishing fifth with a time of 17 minutes and 38.6 seconds. This performance marked an improvement of one minute and twenty seconds compared to her previous run at Detweiler Park last season. Aylana Cezar followed closely, finishing eighth with a time of 17:52.2. Maleigha Huston came in twelfth, completing the course in 18:10.0. Other contributors included Kayden Gilmore (17th), Kristina Petrou (19th), and Faith Procopio (21st).

In the men's race, Western Illinois finished fourth as a team, scoring 115 points overall. Logan Lommel led the men's team by finishing fourteenth with a time of 24:38.1, which ranks as the fourth-fastest time in program history. Olin Ortiz secured seventeenth place with a time of 25:03.2, while Caleb Ware crossed the line twenty-fifth at 27:03.8.

Jace Greene finished twenty-seventh, Max Lupo placed thirty-second, and Isaiah Moorman concluded Western Illinois' participation by finishing thirty-third.
