Western Illinois University's men's golf team is set to compete in the Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City on April 14-15, 2023. This event marks their final competition before the Summit League Championship, which begins on April 30.

Previously, WIU participated in the Stampede at the Creek tournament in Nebraska, where they secured seventh place with a score of +35. Parker Govern was the standout performer for the Leathernecks, finishing tied for eighth with a three-round score of 218 and achieving eleven birdies during the tournament.

The upcoming Hawkeye Invitational will be held at Finkbine Golf Course, a par 72 course measuring 7,174 yards. Due to potential weather concerns, the event has been rescheduled to start a day earlier than planned. The first round will now commence on Friday afternoon, followed by two rounds starting at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Competing alongside Western Illinois are teams from Central Arkansas, Creighton, Drake, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Northern Illinois, South Dakota State, St. Thomas, Tarleton State University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), and Wichita State.
