Women's tennis player Nour Gueblaoui has been recognized by the NCAA as an Accelerating Academic Success Program honoree. She is among only four student-athletes nationwide to receive this award.
The recipients were acknowledged at the NCAA Career in Sports Forum held at the NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis. To qualify for the award, students must attend an AASP-eligible school, be a sophomore or higher, maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher, be eligible for athletics competition, and attend two NCAA professional development events—the Career in Sports Forum and the annual AASP Conference. The Career in Sports Forum offers over 200 student-athletes career guidance and insight, while the AASP Conference equips schools with limited resources with tools to promote academic success and graduation among student-athletes. The awardees are scheduled to participate in the AASP Conference in September.
The AASP Student-Athlete Career Development Award provides those pursuing careers in intercollegiate athletics access to select NCAA professional development programming this year. The program annually allocates over $1 million to schools with limited financial resources to help them meet NCAA academic standards. These funds assist Division I schools in developing programs aimed at increasing graduation rates and ensuring academic success for student-athletes.
Gueblaoui hails from Monastir, Tunisia, and has just completed her junior year at Western Illinois University (WIU). Majoring in General Studies, she played a significant role in helping her team achieve its best season since 2017-2018. During the 2025 season, she recorded a 12-5 singles play record for the Leathernecks and lost only one of her seven conference matches. Additionally, Gueblaoui was highlighted as an Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) preseason Doubles Player to watch and earned Doubles Player of the Week honors alongside teammate Richardlyne Francois on April 15.
