The Western Illinois University (WIU) Men's golf team recently competed in The Big O Classic, finishing in 14th place. The event took place over two days, on October 3 and 4.
Baptiste Labeyrie led the team with a T26 finish, scoring a total of 224 (+8). His performance included three birdies in the first round, leading to a score of 73 (+1). In subsequent rounds, Labeyrie scored 77 (+5) and 74 (+2), respectively.
Luke Lofgren was the second-best scorer for WIU, placing T49 with a score of 232 (+16). Lofgren's performance included an eagle on hole 11 during the third round. His scores were consistent across the rounds with totals of 73 (+1), 79 (+7), and 74 (+2).
The Leathernecks will not compete next week but are scheduled to participate in their final fall tournament at the University of North Alabama on October 16 and 17.
