After a brief hiatus, the Western Illinois women's tennis team is set to resume competition with two matches on the road this weekend. The Leathernecks will face St. Thomas on Friday in their first match since January 27. On Saturday, they will compete against Northern Iowa.

The team's historical record against these opponents shows challenges ahead, as they are 0-2 all-time against St. Thomas and 0-10 against Northern Iowa.

Western Illinois recently faced defeats in Ohio, losing 7-0 to both Bowling Green and Cincinnati. However, the No. 1 doubles team of Lara Rossetto Diniz de Souza and Paige Grice managed to secure a win with a 6-1 victory against Cincinnati.

Following these matches, the Leathernecks will return home next Friday to host Northern Illinois before traveling to Bradley on Saturday.
