Western Illinois University's women's tennis team is set to welcome three new players in the fall of 2024. Head coach Luke Ogren has announced the addition of Rebecca Jouzy, Richardlyne Francois, and Denver Johnson to the Leathernecks' roster.

"These 3 are great additions to our team for the future," said coach Luke Ogren. "They bring a high level of tennis as well as great academics and sportsmanship. With us graduating four seniors, there is a lot of potential for them to contribute right away and make a big difference for us moving forward. We are extremely excited to get them on campus and have them help us climb to the top of the OVC."

Denver Johnson hails from Avon, Ohio, where she was recognized for her impressive high school tennis career. She earned all-conference honors four times and was a conference champion each year. Johnson also achieved notable rankings nationally and received multiple awards including being named Player of the Year by local publications.

Richardlyne Francois joins from Columbus, Ohio, originally from Haiti. During her time at New Albany High School, she was honored as team MVP and Conference Player of the Year. Her achievements include state runner-up titles in doubles and a district championship in 2023.

Rebecca Jouzy arrives from Surrey, British Columbia, Canada with commendable accolades in Canadian junior tennis circuits. She has held national rankings within Canada's U16 and U18 categories and secured several championships in both singles and doubles events.

The trio is expected to make an immediate impact on Western Illinois' team dynamics as they replace graduating seniors.
