Western Illinois tennis team concludes fall season against Quincy

The Western Illinois women's tennis team is set to face Quincy University this Saturday at 1 p.m. This match marks the conclusion of the fall season for the Leathernecks.

Historically, Western Illinois has maintained a perfect record against Quincy, with six wins and no losses. In their last encounter, Western Illinois secured a narrow victory of 4-3, winning the doubles portion 2-1 and splitting singles matches evenly at 3-3.

Recently, Western Illinois participated in the SEMO Redhawk Invitational, achieving an overall record of 1-2. The team defeated Tennessee Southern with a score of 5-2 but was unable to overcome SEMO and SIU-E.

Individual victories were recorded by Paige Grice, Anna-Evelina Trush, Aina Cortina-Pou, and Agatha Carbonell against Tennessee Southern. The doubles teams consisting of Grace and Lara Rossetto Diniz de Souza along with Maria Rybka and Cortina-Pou also emerged victorious in their matches.

Following this weekend's match against Quincy University, Western Illinois will take a short break before beginning their winter/spring season.
