*10/9/2024 – Makers on the Move, a program through Illinois Manufacturers Association will be at Marshalltown Hammer for a stop on their 7-day tour through Illinois. It is a 30 minute stop with short speeches from Marshalltown and IMA officials and then “signing the Bus” by various individuals. We will be closing off streets for this event. October is National Manufacturer’s Month.
*Mayor Wilt met with Chad Curless from Illinois Department of Public Health regarding the splash pad. Apparently permits were not filed by the company that is building the pad. The City has all our permits done for putting the line in, but not for construction as it is not our project. Mayor Wilt met with Jim Brewer and possibly will not get this done this year. He is going to do a Julie to make sure nothing is around the area so they can fence it in until they can work on it with proper permitting.
*On September 6th, Mayor Wilt go to go out and observe a drill at the Junior High for a “gun found in the bathroom”. Though they did have some bugs to work out-it was an amazing
Thing to observe. Chief Hood and his staff and the students and staff at the school did an outstanding job.
