Western Illinois University Women's Soccer faced UT Martin in a crucial match to maintain their position for the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Tournament qualification. Entering the game, Western Illinois and UT Martin were in eighth and ninth places respectively, with only one point separating them. The Skyhawks emerged victorious with a two-nil win.

UT Martin began strongly, securing an early corner kick within the first minute. They accumulated six corners in the first half and twelve throughout the match. Despite several attempts by UT Martin in the sixth and 12th minutes, Ariel Bernard's saves kept the score level until UT Martin scored in the 14th minute with a shot from outside the box.

Western Illinois struggled to mount an effective attack during the first half. However, UT Martin had further opportunities to extend their lead before a deflected shot off a Leatherneck defender increased their advantage just before halftime.

In the second half, momentum shifted towards Western Illinois around the 70th minute. Sydnee Sagal nearly scored with a curling shot that was tipped over by UT Martin's goalkeeper. Despite aggressive play and multiple shots following a corner kick, Western Illinois could not convert these chances into goals. The match concluded with UT Martin moving ahead of Western Illinois into eighth place in the conference standings.

Western Illinois is set to play Tennessee Tech on Sunday at noon, followed by a senior day ceremony.
