The Leatherneck women's soccer team celebrated a significant achievement this week as senior goalkeeper Isabel Navas Rodriguez was recognized for her outstanding performance. The player from Madrid, Spain, secured the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Keeper of the Week award after achieving twelve saves in two consecutive shutout matches.

This accolade marks the third time Rodriguez has been honored as the conference keeper of the week. In her OVC conference debut on Thursday against SEMO, she made seven crucial saves, contributing to the Leathernecks' first-ever point in the conference.

On Sunday, Rodriguez continued her impressive form by preventing Morehead State from securing a third straight conference win. She successfully blocked five shots on goal from the Eagles.

The Leathernecks have accumulated two points in OVC play so far, following two scoreless draws. They are set to face UT Martin on Sunday, October 1, as they continue their conference campaign.
