Western Illinois University's women's soccer team faced Morehead State in their first away match in the Ohio Valley Conference on Sunday. The game concluded with a scoreless draw, highlighting Western's strong defensive performance.

Defenders Emmy Ellington, Ali Matthews, and Rita Moran played crucial roles by staying on the field for the entire match. Their efforts contributed to Western's second clean sheet of the season despite Morehead State taking 24 shots. In contrast, Western managed only two shots throughout the game as Morehead State maintained control of possession.

Senior goalkeeper Isabel Navas Rodriguez made five saves during the match, securing her fourth clean sheet this year. She remains undefeated in shutouts within OVC play and is currently tied for first place in the conference with four shutouts.

Western Illinois now holds a record of 2-4-3 overall and 0-0-2 in conference play. Sunday's result marked the first time Morehead State dropped points in conference play, leaving them with an OVC record of 2-0-1.

The Leathernecks are set to face UT-Martin away on Thursday before hosting Southern Indiana on Sunday.
