Western Illinois athletes participated in the Iowa Musco Twilight Invitational, with notable performances across various events. Pole vaulter Arnie Grunert excelled by setting a new school record with a vault of 17 feet, 4.5 inches, surpassing his previous record by 9.25 inches. This achievement ranks as the 24th-best performance in NCAA men's Division Track and Field this season.

Grunert's success was complemented by other team members. In women's pole vault, Emma Ponx secured second place, while Paulina Lucer came third. Colleen Johnson and Dana Surwillo finished fourth and fifth respectively.

Jasmine Stokes performed well in field events, placing fifth in the hammer throw and eighth in discus. Cadence Stanley achieved second place in javelin with a throw of 104-06.

In men's long jump, Toriano Tate finished second with a leap of 22-07.75 after an initial foul. Cage Davison took fourth place with a jump of 21-09.5.

Ashley Thomas and Briza Dure placed fourth and fifth in women's long jump, while Kelsey Hutchins won the triple jump event with a personal best of 36-09.

On the track, Logan Lommel led Western Illinois by winning the men's 1500-meter race with a time of 3:58.14. Madison Trevena placed eighth in the women's equivalent event.

Kayden Gilmore ran a season-best to finish second overall in the men's 3000-meter race at 10:51.67.

Lucas Burmeister claimed third place in the men's 200 meters with Jaiden Young finishing seventh. Isaac Jones finished fourth overall in the men's 400 meters.

Maleigha Huston completed her run in women's 800 meters at fifth position clocking at 2:16.64.
