Western Illinois University prepares for OVC golf tournament in Mississippi

Western Illinois University's women's golf team is preparing to compete in the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Tournament from April 14-16. The tournament will be held at the Tunica National Golf Course in Tunica, Mississippi, a par 72 course spanning between 6,167 and 6,196 yards.

In their most recent outing at the Stampede at the Creek, Western Illinois finished ninth with a team score of 936 (+72). Notable performances included Mia Scrimgeour's three birdies across rounds and Abby Hunter's consistent pars and birdies. Makayla Mussatto also made significant progress in her third round, climbing 13 spots with two birdies and 13 pars.

The competition will include teams such as Lindenwood, Morehead State, Chicago State, Eastern Illinois, Little Rock, Southern Indiana, Tennessee State, and Tennessee Tech. The tournament format consists of three rounds: round one on Sunday at 8 a.m., round two on Monday at 8 a.m., and the final round on Tuesday at 8 a.m., followed by an awards ceremony.

The starting lineup for Western Illinois includes Olivia Kerr, Makayla Mussatto, Mia Scrimgeour, Natalie Hooper, and Abby Hunter. Hannah Butler will serve as an alternate. Live statistics for the tournament can be accessed through Golf Stat.
