City of Bushnell City Council met Oct. 7.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Wilt called the meeting to order

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.

Guest – Jim Martin voiced his concerns on some items that need some attention around town.

Treasurer

*City Treasurer Betsy Rench stated that she and Deputy City Clerk Mary Brown attended a CBDG workshop for the Washington Street Sewer Grant.

Consent Agenda

Ald. Yocum made a motion to approve the consent agenda which includes.

1. Approval of Minutes from September 16, 2024

2. Approve August Financial Report

3. Approve & Pay September bills

Ald. Burkholder seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Where upon Mayor Wilt declared the motion carried.

Ad hoc (Mayor’s Report)

*IMA Visit to Marshalltown Hammer will be 10/9/2024, from 8 am – 8:30 am

*Time Sheets due no later than 10/30 @ 8 am

*2025 Election Information

*Trick or Treating Hours 6-8 on 10/30 & 10/31

*Donna Coates announced her resignation beginning immediately.

Personnel/Finance/Budget

*Nothing to report

Public Works

*The Crafford St. railroad crossing will be closed on October 7th, they will then move to Sperry Street crossing. Both crossings will be closed for one day on October 9th.

*West Sewage Lagoon (Green Algae) – will go out for bid to remove the algae.

Police/Liquor/ESDA

*Dollar tree/Family Dollar liquor license request.

*New police truck is in service.

*Discussion on certain blocks becoming parking on one side due to homeowners using both sides of the block to park cars. Causing inability for oncoming traffic to pass.

*Police are averaging 20 car stops per month.

Real Estate/Parks/Recreation

Ald. Webb made a motion to put the cash rent land up for bid. Ald. Coates seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with results as follows:

*IMEG has prepared a Water Source Protection Plan

Economic Development

*Next meeting 10/28/2024 4:00 @ Depot

MAEDCO

*Executive Director Kim Pierce stated there is still interest in the Dairy Queen and she is working with someone interested in the Locker Plant.

*The Illinois Manufacturing Association will be in Bushnell on 10/9 from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

Attorney’s Report/ Ordinances & Resolutions

*City Attorney Nick Tinsman is working on a Draft for the Marshalltown incentive.

Ald. Allen made a motion to adjourn.
