Leathernecks excel at Ichabod Invitational; set new records

The Leatherneck Track and Field team participated in the Ichabod Invitational in Topeka, Kansas, achieving several podium finishes and breaking school records.

In the High Jump event, Garrison Murray secured ninth place with a jump of 1.89 meters. Rayvon Wright followed closely with the same height, finishing 12th overall.

Toriano Tate made a notable performance in the Men's Long Jump by finishing third with a leap of 7.26 meters, placing him tenth on the school's all-time record list. Cage Davidson achieved 15th place with a jump of 6.90 meters.

Angel Stanley excelled in the Open Pole Vault event by securing first place with a vault of 3.34 meters. In the Pole Vault invite, Emma Ponx claimed third place and set a new school record for the third time this season with a vault of 3.94 meters. Dana Surwillo finished eighth with a vault of 3.64 meters.

Bria Armstrong and Nakeita Kessling both placed in the top ten in the Triple Jump event, with Armstrong finishing eighth at 11.28 meters and Kessling ninth at 11.27 meters.

In track events, Richard Brown performed well in the 800-meter race, securing fourth place with a time of 1:53.94.

The Leathernecks will compete next at the OVC Conference Tournament in Indianapolis from February 24 to February 26.
