City of Bushnell City Council met Feb. 17.

Mayor Wilt called the meeting to order

*City Treasurer Betsy Rench stated the City would be receiving a check from Cincinnati Insurance for about $4800.00 for an accident that took place at the Water treatment plant.

Ald. Yocum made a motion to approve the consent agenda which includes.

Ad hoc (Mayor’s Report)
*Mayor Wilt met with Eric Shangraw from GFL. They are interested in extending their contract and would like the opportunity to do so. He is mailing her a prospective for the City to consider.
*Mayor Wilt has a letter going to the Historical Society on updates from them in their search for suitable storage for their items. She will hand deliver it as well as mail out a copy.
*Fabulous job from Stacey Allen and her team on the “Let the Sparks Fly” event.
*Mayor Wilt would like to put to bid the cleaning of City Hall and the Police Complex.
*Thursday is the MAEDCO Annual Meeting at Park Place.
*Chamber of Commerce meets 2/19 at 5:00 @Rosies
*The Rec Center received a $1000.00 donation from the Beverly Versteeg estate in the memory of Karen Versteeg.
*3/1 – B-PC Foundation Fundraiser for New Elementary playground equipment @VFW $20 tickets, live auction and silent auction, meal.
*3/5 – Sperry & Crafford St. Signal Construction to start by Patriot Rail
*3/8 – Pancake and Sausage Breakfast at Oddfellows
*3/22 – Trivia Bowl at Checkrow Community Church, Donation pasta bar at 5:30, Trivia and then dessert auction – childcare provided!
*4/4 – High School Spring Pla “Clue” 7 pm
*4/5 – Decade of Decadence 80’s Hair Night @ Bushnell Fire Hydrants Hoses
Personnel/Finance/Budget

Public Works
Ald. Yocum made a motion to pass Ordinance 2025-2, Stop Sign at Water and Cole street. Ald. Burkholder seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

*Water Plant on Dean Street (Bid process with IMEG to replace membranes).
*Lead Line service Agreement, waiting on Grant to proceed to complete the house to house survey. Residents to be notified by Utility Bills and Facebook page.
*East and West Lagoons proceed with bid process to clean out the cells. Bid opening willbe March 12th @ 10:00 at the City Hall.
*Washington Street Sanitary sewer project, waiting on EPA permit to proceed.
Police/Liquor/ESDA
*Several local business owners requested that the City consider permitting side-by-side vehicles to legally drive on the City streets. The committee will continue discussions at the next meeting.
Parks/Recreation/Real Estate
*Next meeting will be on 3/5/2025 with the Historical Society.
Engineering Report
*Kent Cox is now working for IMEG.
*The west side lagoon is not in compliance, Megan Crook with IMEG would like to move forward with the process. The study will cost the city $45,000.
Economic Development
*Ald. Allen thanked everybody for the help with the “Let the Sparks Fly” event. As of this time, they have $6713.46 profit.
*Next meeting 2/24/25
Attorney’s Report/Ordinances & Resolutions
*City Attorney Nick Tinsman looked into the Liquor License Ordinances concerning private parties.
