Western Illinois Women's Golf finishes fifth in OVC Championships

The Western Illinois University Women's Golf Team concluded their season today at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, securing fifth place. They achieved a total score of 966 (+102) across three rounds.

Team members Abby Hunter and Mia Scrimgeour led the Leathernecks, placing within the top 15. Hunter finished 13th, achieving her best round in the tournament with a score of 76 in the third round. Throughout the final round, she managed to par 14 out of the 18 holes, ending with a score of +4. Her sole birdie appeared in the first round on the 12th hole, a 450-yard par five.

Scrimgeour secured 14th place with her best performance in the second round, scoring 77 (+5). She recorded two birdies on the back nine.

Completing the team scores, Olivia Kerr ended with +29, Olivia McCrystal with +39, and Sophia Thorne with +49. Overall, four out of the five golfers finished in the top 30 in the final tournament of their spring season.
