In the 2023-24 school year, 36.1% of the students in Calhoun Community Unit School District 40 passed the ELA portion of the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR), according to the Illinois State Board of Education.

Of the 213 students in Calhoun Community Unit School District 40 who took the ELA portion of the test, approximately 77 (36.1%) passed.

The percentage of Calhoun Community Unit School District 40 students who met or exceeded expectations on the IAR increased by 11.5% compared to the previous school year.

This decline is significantly higher than the typical annual decreases of 0.5% to 1.5% observed in the preceding years, reflecting broader demographic shifts within the state.
