Western Illinois University quarterback Nathan Lamb had a notable performance last Saturday at Illinois State, leading to his recognition as the Big South-Ohio Valley Conference Football Association's Co-Offensive Player of the Week. Lamb shares this accolade with Tennessee State's Draylen Ellis.

Lamb, a senior, set a new program record by completing his first 11 passes. He finished the game with 24 completions out of 33 attempts for 269 yards and one touchdown. Additionally, Lamb contributed significantly on the ground, rushing for three touchdowns and gaining 59 yards on 15 carries. His three rushing touchdowns in one game were the first for Western Illinois since Nikko Watson achieved the same feat against Indiana State in 2015.

This honor marks the first time a Leatherneck has been named conference Offensive Player of the Week since Naseim Brantley received it on September 4, 2022, following his performance in the season opener at UT Martin.

Western Illinois is currently on a bye week and will return to action on Saturday, September 28, for their home opener against McKendree.
