Western Illinois University's women's soccer team is preparing for their final pair of home games against UT Martin and Tennessee Tech. The matches will take place at John MacKenzie Alumni Field in Macomb, Illinois, on October 17 and October 20.

UT Martin enters the match with a record of 2-9-3, presenting an opportunity for Western Illinois to gain points. Izzy Patterson is noted as a key player for UT Martin, leading the team in points, goals, and assists. The two teams have previously faced off once, resulting in a draw last year.

Tennessee Tech will face Western Illinois following their game against Eastern Illinois. If Tennessee Tech secures at least one point from that match, they will come into Sunday's game with an unbeaten streak of six matches. Western Illinois has won their last three senior day matches but faces a challenge against the Golden Eagles.

Currently, Western Illinois stands at 1-11-1 for the season and is vying for qualification in the OVC Tournament. They are eighth in the standings with four points. Every remaining match is crucial for their chances to qualify.

The upcoming Sunday game also marks Senior Day for Western Illinois, where six seniors will be honored: Isabel Navas Rodriguez, Sydnee Sagal, Rachel Balinao, Alexis Betker, Elise Bush, and Karaline Gray.

Among key returners are Isabel Navas Rodriguez and Sydnee Sagal who bring experience to the team. Junior Hana Daoudi and sophomore Alanna Pennington are also notable players returning this season.

Kayla Turner has been highlighted as a Player to Watch. Now in her fourth season with the Leathernecks, she aims to continue her impact on the field after overcoming injuries earlier in her college career.

The team welcomes seven new players this year as well. Notable additions include Callie McMurtrey from Jefferson College and Autumn Wilson from Cody WY who are expected to strengthen the offense.
