State Rep. C.D. Davidsmeyer (R-Murrayville) is asking for help in decorating his office at the capitol building in Springfield.

Residents in the 100th District, which Davidsmeyer represents, can participate in a photo contest to update his décor.

“I’m holding another photo contest to update the pictures on my wall in Springfield. Please think about something cool or fun to photograph that would look good in my office!!” Davidsmeyer said on Facebook.

People of all ages can take a picture of an object, place or event in the 100th District and email it with contact information to RepCDDavidsmeyer@gmail.com, a release said. Contact information needed is first and last names, mailing address, email address and phone number.

A map of the 100th District is available at www.CDDavidsmeyer.org

“The 100th District includes all or portions of Adams, Brown, Calhoun, Greene, Jersey, Macoupin, Madison, Morgan, Pike, and Scott Counties,” the release said.

Davidsmeyer said in the release that the district has “so many amazing places and cool events.”

“Pick a local landmark, a festival, a farm, business, wildlife, or anything that tells the story of our region. I can’t wait to continue to show off our district to the many visitors from around the state and nation!” Davidsmeyer said.

Running through 2023, the contest will have winners chosen three times, with the first round selected on Saturday, July 15; Sunday, Oct. 1 and Friday, Dec. 15.

“Individuals whose pictures are selected will have their photo framed and hung in Davidsmeyer’s Springfield Capitol office and will be invited to Springfield to have their photo taken in the office once it has been displayed,” the release said.

People can contact Davidsmeyer at 217-243-6221 or at RepCDDavidsmeyer@gmail.com with questions.

Davidsmeyer grew up in Jacksonville. He has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, his biography said. He was a legislative assistant for U.S. Rep. John Shimkus in Washington, D.C. He joined the House of Representatives in December 2012 and was sworn in for a full term in the 98th General Assembly in January 2013.
