Western Illinois women’s soccer ends season with loss to Southern Indiana

Western Illinois University's women's soccer team ended its 2025 season with a 1-0 loss to Southern Indiana on Sunday at John MacKenzie Alumni Field. The match, part of the Ohio Valley Conference schedule, saw the only goal scored in the 79th minute by Anna Depenbrock, assisted by Emerson Grafton and Emma Thurston.

Freshman goalkeeper Lillian Johns made seven saves for the Leathernecks, with six coming in the second half. Kayla Turner was the only Western Illinois player to record a shot on goal. Claire Brown and Hana Daoudi each had attempts during the second half.

The Leathernecks finished their season with an overall record of 1-17-1 and went winless in conference play with an 0-8-1 mark.
